Easter Sales

You should know by now that I love a good deal. Catching one can really make my day!

Right now all the stores are desperate to get rid of their extra Easter goodies. Most of the time you can get them anywhere from 50%-75% off this week. Stock up now!

A couple years ago at the after Easter sales I picked up the dying cups. I had been eying them, but I thought the asking price was a little steep for what they were. I paid very little for these, and I re-use them every year. Just wash them out when you are done using them, dry completely and pack away in an air tight container and store away.

Now all I need to pick up ever year is the egg dye! I try to pick up a clearanced box (or 2), and we are set for the following year. Generally I pay no more than .50¢ a box. If I miss a clearance, the stash that I have accumualted is good enough!

It is also a good time to stock up on Easter baskets. You can pick these up fairly cheap, and they can last for years to come, just tuck them away in a storage box with the rest of your Easter goodies. Our kids re-use theirs every year, and will continue to do so until they start to fall apart.

Be sure to pick up some clearanced Easter chocolate while you're at it--you deserve it for saving money! :)

If I have any extra egg decorating stickers, egg wraps or anything else, I just pop it all in a ziploc bag and store it with the rest of my stash. Nothing goes to waste!

Shopping after holiday clearance sales has saved me loads of cash. Same product, half the price. It works for me!

All Stocked Up!

Atleast for a little bit!

I went to Walgreen's yesterday to get a few deals. I probably would not have went, but I was unable to finish my regularly scheduled grocery shopping last week, due to a friend stopping in. So, since I had to drive to the "big" town, I made it worth my while!

Currently, Walgreen's has a RR promotion on the Skippy and Ragu. Buy 6, and get $4 in RR. I needed spaghetti sauce in the upcoming week, so it worked out great for me. And, well, we can always use PB!

Here is the breakdown;

(5) Ragu x $1.67= $8.35

(2) Skippy PB x $1.67=$3.34

(2) Dove Hair Care {shampoo/cond} x 2/$4.99

(2) Nivea Mens Face Care x $1.69 (notice their price tag...orig. $6.99!!!!)=$3.38

(4) Jolt Gum x .80=$3.20 (one is in my purse)

Coupons Used:

Ragu $1/3, .50/2 from Sunday's Insert. Final Price: $6.85

Skippy .60 MQ, .40 MQ also from Sunday's paper. Final Price:$2.34

(2) $2 MQ for any Dove Hair Care Final Price: .50 ea!

(2) $1 Nivea Any Face Product IP Final Price: .69 ea!

(2) BOGO Jolt Gum Final Price: .40 ea

Recieved $4 in RR from PB/Ragu

I bought some other things too, I ended up using my gc to pay, and my $3 and $2 RR from last week. I bought a total of 22 items (candy for my youngest to appease him, twizzlers on sale form my dd, and cookies for her snack day). My OOP was $6.16. So my price per item here was .28. Yippee!

This was from the local grocery store.

More peanut butter! My husband thinks that I have officially lost it!

(2) Pringles x .77=$1.54

(4) Peter Pan PB x $1.67= $6.68

(2) Tostitos Chips 2/6= $6 ( having Bible Study at my home this evening, and needed these for my homemade fire salsa!)

Found a coupon on one bag of Tostitos for free Tostitos Dip wyb 2 chips. So, free queso!

Coupons Used

Free Dip q from bag

(4) $1 Peter Pan MQ from All You Mag Final Price: .67 ea!

OOP here was $10.70 or $1.19 an item. Kind of high, but I LOVE Tostitos dips, and generally we do not get them because they are so high. Since I found the coupon, I thought I would treat myself to dip, and name brand chips (this doesn't happen very often!).

I'm pretty pleased overall with my deals. Now, to find a place for all of it.

Deals...Complete with Pictures!!

Yippee!! I'm actually getting around to post my deals..from today, nonetheless, complete with pictures!

I think I deserve a cookie. Yummo, that sounds good. Okay, back to the deals.

My oldest son had a minor breakdown/freakout in Walgreen's while we were checking out. Which, I feel I handled well, thankfully we had a very understanding and awesome cashier. My only regret is I never did catch his name so I could pass it on to his manager. Anyway, there was a horrendous line behind us, with everyone just having one item, so I let them in front of me. Crazy coupon lady that I am, I had a buggy about half-full, with a gazillion different coupons, all I needed was to hold up the line and have a freaking out kid. Easier to have the kid freak out with not as many people to witness it. Fully convinced at this point that we can no longer handle him on our own, and we need to bring a doctor in on the matter. Someone we do not know. I'm losing focus again. Here we go:

Bubble Collection originally 3.99 on clearance Paid .99
(2) Band Aids On sale 2/2.99
(3) Skintimate Shave Cream, 7-day Q .99
(2) Dawn Simple Pleasure on final markdown for 1.99
(2) Ajax, 7-day Q 2/1.79
(2) Tuf Trash Bags BOGO 2/4.99
(2) Household gloves (never used these before, but I was just talking about trying them) 2/.99
Jane Mineral Powder $4.99
(2) Gillette Deodorant, 2/6.66
Tag Body Spray, $3.33
Olay Ribbons Body Wash, $3.33
Olay Botanical Fusion, $3.33
Infusium 23 Shampoo, $6

Coupons Used:
(1) $1 Bandaid Wags Q from the Pharmacy Book (tried to use 2, but the stinkers got smart and the 2nd bandaid rung up free! Shoot.) Final Price: 2/$1.99
(3) .55 Skintimate Q (one from an insert, 2 IP) Final Price: .44 ea
(2) $1 Dawn Simple Pleasure Final Price: .99 ea
(1) $1/2 Gillette Deodorant Final Price 2/$5.66
$1 MQ Tag Body Spray Final Price: $2.33

$2 MQ Olay Ribbons Body Wash Final Price: $1.33

$1 MQ Olay Botanical Fusion Final Price: $2.33
$3 MQ Infusium 23 Shampoo Final Price: $3

Recieved $7 in RR from the Deodorant/Body Wash/Shampoo (theorettically spending $7.65 for all)
$5 MIR for Tuf Trash bags (making both of those FREE!!!)
$4.99 MIR for Jane Mineral Powder (making it FREE!!!)

Not too shabby. I got A LOT of stuff, my stockpile is really growing..but atleast I'm not paying too much {if anything} to do it! :)

This is WA-Mart...well minus the Twizzlers. I forgot to put them in my WAGS pic. They were .99 ea, my kids ADORE these...I will use them to get them to do stuff for me.

I really didn't get a whole lot form Wal-Mart...as you can tell...but all of the stuff in the picture was FREE. Yup, free. And actually the John Freida Mousse produced .03 overage. Hey, overage is overage, right?!

And this stuff was all free, too! Compliments of my mailbox. I bet my mailman really loves me these days!! The Country Bob's Sauce wasn't phsyically in my mailbox, but a coupon for a free bottle was. So I got it, and took a picture of the actual bottle because it is much more interesting than paper!

All around pretty good, especially for a newbie.

My Deals

Well, I was really hoping that I would get to post my deals from the last few weeks...last week. If you hadn't noticed..that didn't happen. Last week we had VBS at church, and this weekend we had lots and lots of food flowing from our garden. Yippee!! So, my husband and I canned...a lot! :)

Anyway..I'm done school clothes shopping. Atleast for the most part..I think I will need a few more long sleeve shirts for both kids, and my son might need some new jeans, and they both need a new pair of tennis shoes. But, both of my kids had outgrown so much, I was fearful of what it was going to cost me! Amazingly enough, I got all 3 of my children tons of clothes, and shoes, for...Are you ready?! $27.00!!!!!! Go me!! And, most of them, other than 2 shirts for my youngest, were all name brand. How you ask? Well, I went yard sale-ing with my mom-in-law, and my sister-in-law. Generally, I don't get much. I'm picky, and cheap when it comes to yard sales. My sister-in-law told me about a thrift store that she usually hits that is loaded, and cheap. I was a skeptic, I must admit. But I hit jackpot. It is close to an army base, so when the families get orders to move, apparently they get rid of most of their goods so they don't have to move it. Best place on the planet, I'm convinced. I got my oldest a brand new pair of Redhead waterproof boots for $3.00!! Perry Ellis church shoes for $1! My daughter, who was is in dire need of bottoms of all sorts got the most. I bought her 4 pair of capris, and 3 pair of pants for a total of $7. One was Ralph Lauren, the others were Arizona, I do believe. My youngest, since he was under size 6, got off the cheapest. Everything under size 6 was 50 cents. Didn't matter what is was. And, all the proceeds go towards a domestic violence shelter and to help the elderly. Can't lose there. {sorry for the lack of pictures, everything is put up, and I am too lazy to dig it all out again. I can tell you, that all my goods took up 2 paper sacks crammed and overflowing, and a wal-mart sack full. AMAZING!}

I've also got a lot of good deals from Walgreen's and Walmart and a local grocery store in the last however long. Agh. I'm so behind in posting.

Again, I apologize for the lack of pictures....everything is halfway tidy, I would hate to mess it all up again for a picture. So please forgive my wordy, no picture blog. I will do better next time...promise!

  • Farmland Beef Hot Dogs and Smokes Sausages .50 cents each after they were on sale 2/$4 paired w/ $2/2 grocery store Q, and a $1/2 MQ.
  • Lunchable Juniors 10/$10. Used (2) .50 IP that was doubled to $1. Making them .80 each compared to $1.97 @ Walmart. This saved me the money of taking the kids out to lunch too!! :)
  • I won't go into full detail because that would take forever, but I bought both of my kids' school supplies for $2 total! My daughter however just informed me that she wants a new backpack ,even though hers doesn't look a day old, because it has Tinkerbell on it, so everyone calls her Tink. She was bawling in Wal-Mart when she told me this. How can I tell her no?! Guess I'll go the bogo at Walgreens, since none of the ones at Walmart were very cute.
  • I bought the Crayola Markers from Walgreens for $2, and then applied for the $2 MIR. Final Price: FREE!
  • Bought 2 Pledge used a BOGO Q, and then a $1 MQ. Making them 2/3.99 and then I did the MIR for $2. Final Price: $1 ea (I was in desperate need of these!)
  • Also, Pantene Beautiful Lengths Shampoo 2/$8 , $2 MQ and then a $4 MIR. Final Price: $1 ea
  • (4) Colgate Total Whitening Toothpaste on sale 1.99, $2/2 ESQ, and then (2) 1.50 MQ Final Price: .24 ea!!

I think thats all for my really stellar deals. I'm excited about this weeks deals though. I will post pics with those deals though. Promise!

This is my first time doing the rebates for Walgreens, and if you have never done them, they are SO incredibly easy! Mine went through without a hitch, and because I chose the gift card option, I will be getting back $11 (rebate amount plus 10%), instead of the $10 I would get if I requested the check. How awesome is that?!
