Have You Thanked Him?

Today I was in a mad dash to whip my house into shape. Someone was on their way to our home to look it over with a fine tooth comb. Many things hinge on their visit, and it was very important to me that my house be perfect.

In the middle of my frantic cleaning, I found myself becoming very bitter inside.

Frustrated at my children who do not seem to ever put their dirty clothes in the hamper. Or even put their shoes in their closets.

Frustrated at my husband for leaving his muck every single place I turn.

Frustrated because no body had the desire to help.me.out.

And then...

I heard these words coming from the radio. "We rarely thank God for those little things. For giving us a family to do laundry for. For blessing us with a home to clean."

Whoa.

I'm thankful my husband left me his muck. I'm thankful my children forgot to put their shoes and dirty laundry up.

They're healthy. They're doing what they do, day in and day out.

With the recent tragedies in Haiti, I am reminded, not everyone has the pleasure of doing those mundane chores.

Have you thanked Him today?

Keeping My Faith

I apologize for disappearing the last few days. It has been a tough week in our house. If you follow me on Twitter or are a fan on Facebook, you've seen some of my struggles.

First off, I cannot even begin to tell you how thankful I am for your prayers and your continued support during this time. I have felt every last one of them! It has been so comforting to me to know that you all care so much about me and our situation.

I consider myself to be a faithful, God fearing person. I've always prayed multiple times in a day, and I try to lead a life that is pleasing to my Creator. When everything happened this week, I was speechless and infuriated. I wanted to scream.

Instead, I prayed. Over and over.

The very situation that caused me to be very mad and incredibly hurt--just brought me peace and understanding. I was given guidance and the right words to help the situation--not harm it and make it an even bigger mess. In the middle of it all, I couldn't believe it. A situation that could have easily created a huge mess, was going smoother than ever imagined.

As the days have went on, I found myself delving into The Word even more, and being on my knees in prayer far more than before. Every single scripture I came across pertained to my situation, some way, some how. My hurt was going away.

Turning the complete situation over to Christ has brought me peace. I know I cannot change it--but I know He can, and I know He will.

Keeping my faith in a time that I could have easily tossed it, is a Finer Thing indeed. We will be closer as a family, as a couple, as parents, and as believers.

The Enemy will not win--we will overcome and be stronger because of it!!
