My table is so full, it is hard to see everything. I spent a total of about $90 for everything you see, and some things that are buried. Here are the highlights:
(6) Philadelphia Cream Cheese @ .50/ea
(4) Frozen Containers Strawberry Slices @ .75/ea
(4) Mexican Vanilla @ .50/ea
(6) Organic Vegetable/Marinara Pasta Dinners @ .49/ea (These are perfect for my 4yo's lunches)
(2) Nutella @ $1.29/ea (Yesterday was the first time I've ever tried Nutella--I can't believe I waited so long. So good!)
(4) Trail Mix @ .99/ea
(2) Aluminum Free Baking Powder @ .75/ea
Cornstarch .49
(5) Diced Ham @ .75/ea
Whole Fryer Chicken @ $2.50
Red Pears 4 for .19 cents!! (Using these for another Pear Oven Pancake. Yum!)
I went to the local grocer after this trip and got a few things I wasn't able to get from the discount store. As you can see from the picture, I didn't pick up much and I still spent $42!! Yikes!
Don't forget about those discount grocery stores, they can bring big savings!

great job on the discount grocer trip. i have yet to make it to the one that is in our city, partially it's on a side of town i never go on.
the second trip wasn't to pricecutter, was it? i find that depite their name, they are not the cheapest. a trip for milk can easily become a $20 or more trip with maybe 3 or 4 items.
I wish I knew how to go about finding one of these (short of just stumbling across one).
Oh I love nutella! it is godsent! I grew up with it and recently I had to cut it out of my diet, cause im on a diet.. and its also super expensive! but you got a great price on EVERYTHING! that's amazing!
Ok, now I'm hungry for 2 things: chocolate cake, and Nutella. I need to get you my recipe for Nutella. W/ the baking sales going on, you'll be able to make it homemade for probably less $. I've never had storebought, I can't imagine that it's as good as homemade :P
I'm not sure if we have discount grocery stores in Las Vegas.
I'm with you about buying expired meat...no way!
This is perfect timing for me because we have a new discount grocery that just opened in our town. I plan to try them out so the motivation.
Just a quick question - Can you tell what the of the dicount grocer was?
Is it like an Aldi's or something? I was Aldi's wed. and got a couple of things but I also noticed somethings were cheaper at the store.
OH yes, You are so right about Nutella - it is so good.
April-- I live in a very small town, we do not have a Price Cutter, or any chain grocer for that matter. I think it is an affiliate, somehow, though.
Rachel-- I'm not sure how to go about finding one. We seen ours being built and after hearing many recommends, we gave it a whirl. Maybe ask around?
Busy Mom-- No, this particular trip wasn't from Aldi--although Aldi and this store are my top 2 places I shop for groceries. This store isn't a chain, there are only 2..both in nearby towns.
Good to know that I'm not the only one that has a Nutella addiction! Miriam, I would love your recipe--I'm going to be out soon. ;)
